India is the largest democracy in the world and right to vote is an important instrument in the hands of the common man for participating in the democracy and its institutions. Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) is a programme which was launched by Election Commission of India to increase voters’ participation and to promote electorate education. Following the guidelines of SVEEP, Voters’ Awareness Campaign is being conducted by Aryabhatta International College of Technical Education, Ajmer during which students were taken to Adarsh Nagar and its nearby areas to motivate people to vote and to educate them about their voting rights in an attempt to merge the gap between what voters should know and what they actually know about various components of the election process. Students of Aryabhatta College enthusiastically participated to contribute as vigilant citizens and to celebrate this festival of democracy by going door-to-door and explaining people how valuable each and every vote is.
